Death Wish Guitar -Canada Rage Radio

\ ETOBICOKE \

I’m not personally familiar with what the hype surrounding the “Death Wish Guitar” is but according to what I read on the internet it’s a pretty big deal to fans of former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde.

But the fact that the instrument, along with free samples of a Death Wish coffee brand promoted by Wylde, will be at tonight’s edition of the Rock jam at The Rockpile —and that jammers can play the six-string that’s been signed by many Metal legends and get their name included in a book of all those who’ve also strummed it on stage— should guarantee a lot of Metal-oriented musicians come out.

Steve Hill of Canada Rage Radio, which spins Metal/Rock tunes online, is supplying both the coffee and the guitar and says he also has a limited supply of Death Wish picks to give out to players who perform with it.

Others will be at the weekly event in the club at 5555 Dundas St. West in Etobicoke simultaneously to help with another fundraiser for popular Rock scenester Kim Harris, who had a heart transplant last year after a lifetime of struggling with congenital heart issues and is still recovering.

Catalyst -PROMO

To help Kim, says jam host Al Reilly, there’s raffles with prizes including tickets to see acclaimed band Black & Blue at the club in July as well as a numbered, limited-edition Death Wish coffee mug, a 50/50 draw and “Have A Heart For Kim” shirts for sale.

There’s also free swag and if you like the free sample of the coffee, known as “Odinforce brew,” you can also purchase some for home.  It all kicks off at 8 p.m., there’s no cover and the jam usually attracts very high calibre players to perform on a world-class stage equipped with full backline and lights. There’s also Catalyst members like keyboardist Rick Anderson and guitarist Anthony Cee on hand to lend support to any players or singers requesting it and solo acts or full bands are also welcome.
