Signe Miranda at Earl of Whitchurch March 22, 2022 -YOU TUBE screen grab

\ TO CENTRAL \

Ebullient and engaging songwriter Signe Miranda pops up in the most unexpected places, appearing far and wide both as a solo artist, with her band Signe Miranda’s Veranda and to conduct sessions of her ongoing songwriting workshop series.

She was one of the scores of artists who took part in the recent world record-setting charity concert at Earl of Whitchuch in Stouffville, appearing with her Pop group in the middle of the night.  And the author of “The Song Creation Formula: 7 Easy Steps to Writing Your Song” has also done shows and workshop sessions in Montreal, Ottawa and far beyond during the past few years.

Tonight, though. she’s back on familiar turf doing double duty once again at Free Times Café, where from 4:30-6:30 p.m. she hosts another of her “Get Unstuck With Your Songwriting” workshops that could be just what a composer needs to cure writer’s block.  Cost for that is $15 —or just $10 if you register in advance— and you only need to bring pen, paper and the instrument of your choice.

As we’ve written on previous occasions when she’s done the back-to-back workshops and open mics, after the coaching session participants will be first in line to try out their material on the no-cover weekly open stage she’ll be hosting in the back room of the club at 320 College St., for which sign-up begins at 7 p.m.
