Nashville Bound aims to help one of its own tonight | TorontoMoon.ca 160131Su | Shows for Sun., Jan. 31, 2016

Nashville Bound\ TO DOWNTOWN \

For nearly two years now, once a month Folk songwriter Glen Hornblast gathers together a group of fellow artists to put on what he calls the Nashville Bound series, at which, as I’ve told you previously, talents each take turns sharing their songs and sometimes accompanying one another on original tunes.

But tonight at Free Times Café the show has an additional twist as Glen has put together a multi-artist bill of impressive calibre to raise funds to help one of their own in her struggle to recover from a cancer diagnosis and to fund recording of a cd of her material.

I don’t know Michelle Lecce personally and I can’t say I’m familiar with her songs either, but if Glen feels that her compositions are worthy of being recorded, that’s good enough for me.

Her material and person is apparently also good enough for songwriters such as Herb Dale and Fran McCann of The McDales, Peter Mathieson, Linda Saslove, The Curries. Tony Hanik, Jean-Claude Csendes, Christopher Lansing, Christine Gaidies and Pete Janes, all of whom have signed on to perform.

The show starts at 8 in the cozy back room of the club at 320 College St. between Spadina and Bathurst and cover is $10 or pay what you can.
