Most friends and fans of Folk songwriter Peter Verity also met his wife Diane at some point while attending one of his shows because his “number one fan”, as he describes her, was at pretty much all of them except when her battles with cancer made that impossible. Though quite ill for the past few years, she seldom showed any hint of it and her twinkling eyes and upbeat personality were an infectious delight to encounter.
Early Sat. morning she passed away while at home after slipping into unconsciousness on Friday, but was surrounded by her family, which also includes son Julian and daughter Eva.
Visitation with the family will be at the Sherrin Funeral Home at 873 Kingston Rd. near Main on Wed. Feb. 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A service will be held on Valentines Day at 2 p.m. at Corpus Christie Church at 16 Lockwood Rd. north off Queen E., 3 blocks west of Woodbine Ave.
