The group known as The New Mynah Birds may be no more, having disbanded a couple of months or so ago on friendly terms, but that’s not stopping the three core members of the group from performing together on a regular basis. Meet: The Erstwhile Birds!? lol
Just last week lead-singing Bird Nicole “Nikki” Dunn did a show at East York’s Eton House with her new band, The Modern Deltones, which includes Birds alumnus Les Hoffman on guitar. And this afternoon those two, along with drummer Jon McCann, will be back in The Junction area, which the Birds called home roost, to be the co-hosting guests for Birds bassist Dave McManus’s weekly 3:30 - 7:30 open jam at The Hole In The Wall —which has been a nest for all the Birds members since its reopening last year. No doubt fans of the old Birds will flock to join the party at the club at 2867 Dundas St. W. at the corner of Keele St.
