When Still Sunday frontman, songwriter and veteran Rock drummer Jim Cornell tells me to check out an artist I’ve learned it’s a good idea to do so, since he’s got great instincts for what works in a Pop song. So when he told me he’s going to be appearing playing acoustic percussion behind this week’s feature guest at Julian Taylor’s Mon. open stage at Dora Keogh I hustled over to Fraz Milne’s musician page on Facebook to check out some of the tunes from his debut album Fraz/Hear. Lushly produced, operatic, artsy Pop Rock tunes with Beatlesy echoes pour forth, though apparently his forthcoming new album, The Grey Area (on which Cornell plays the drums and which Milne will be previewing acoustically tonight) has a Rootsier vibe. He’ll take the stage  at 9:30 following Taylor’s opening set at 8:30. -17
It appears that  swampy Funk/Rock band Bentroots will now be doing only two Mondays a month at Relish on Danforth near Woodbine (1st and 3rd week of the month). So if you’re a fan, you want to get there tonight. If you’re not a fan and go anyways, I guarantee you will be when you leave after the 8-11 show. You can grab one of their cds to listen to during off weeks
