Shai isn’t being reticent about promoting his Elmo show tonight

I’m sure Toronto ex-patriate keyboard player Shai Peer has a lot of things going on in his life out in Peterborough, where he’s been for about ten years now. But his  main focus at the moment, judging by the numerous and enthusiastic posts he’s been making on Facebook, is his show tonight with the rest of the Weber Brothers Band at Toronto’s El Mocambo club (464 Spadina at College).

A lot of people are excited that the room is back in the live music business, of course, but Shai, whom I remember from the 90s being a very active and supportive member of the local Blues/Jazz-Rock community, sounds particularly thrilled. He first played there in 1990 and is excited to be reconnecting with a lot of old friends at the gig.

Start time or cover info isn’t available but this Blues band, featuring the namesake brothers who played with Ronnie Hawkins, is smokin’ hot and Peer has few equals on rockin’ keys.
