\ TORONTO  EAST\

Fresh off the formal release of their self-titled album of stellar Country songs penned by Reid Pickering (which I continue to classify rather as “Rural Pop” because they have a toe-tapping, knee-jiggling upbeat energy that goes beyond what most people think of as Country) The Ditch Horses are back tonight to resume their regular monthly Tuesday show at cozy East TO watering hole The Only Café.

The room where the band performs (technically known as The One and accessible through a passageway at the back of The Only) would be a lot cozier if only the owners would pay some attention to how the lights behind the stage are arranged: blaring inside they make it impossible to watch the act for any sustained period of time without sunglasses on. But quite possibly most audience members will be busy dancing anyways so won’t be still long enough to notice that. No cover, 9 p.m.-ish start. -Gary 17
