Memorial for Mose will include new Quarrington song he inspired | TorontoMoon.ca 190807We | Shows for Wednesday, August 07, 2021

\ TO CENTRAL \

An eclectic panoply of stars from diverse genres including Jazz, Blues, Roots and Country will be gathering this evening to remember the late Mose Scarlett with a tribute concert at Tranzac Club.

As we reported at the time, the reclusive and laconic raconteur and practitioner of old time music with a rich, smooth bass voice that seemed to permeate a room, passed away on May 30 after battling a number of medical conditions for some time.

Many of the artists he called friends and with whom he collaborated in performance and on recordings (and who are also his fans) will be on the bill for the 7:30 p.m. show taking place in the Main Hall of the venue at 292 Brunswick Ave.

One of them, iconic songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Tony Quarrington, has even co-written with his duo partner, Zoey Adams, a new song, “Now and Then” inspired by Mose and in the ol’ time style of which he was a master.

Admission to the show is by donation, with $20 suggested and all proceeds going to Mose’s family.  Here’s the full list of performers who have agreed to appear:
