Turbo Street Funk -SUPPLIED

\ TO DOWNTOWN \

An eclectic 5-piece horns and guitar/harmonica band, Turbo Street Funk formed out of a loose association of buskers and is now, after getting doing club dates and festivals, ready to release its second album of originals, a brew of inventive high-energy tunes according to fellow Roots songwriter Beverly Kreller.

The release party for Momentum takes place tonight at Horseshoe Tavern, 370 Queen St. W., starting at 9 with opening act Kunlé and admission is just $10.

Kreller says the new album combines strains of Blues and Roots mingling with Ska, Gypsy Rock and Klezmer as the group’s sousaphone, tuba, French horn and sax all get a workout along with the guitar and harmonica and some very pleasing vocals.
