Signe Miranda gears up for western Canada book and music tour

\TORONTO DOWNTOWN\

It wasn’t enough for spunky Pop songwriter Signe Miranda to have recorded a couple of albums of catchy original tunes with her Signe Miranda’s Veranda, to have founded both the Music City North promotions company (which she’s since left) and her extant Concrete City Records enterprise.

As I’ve told you before, a couple of years ago she added another dimension to her activities, becoming a music coach staging workshops for budding performers, some of whom she showcased at an April show at The Central in TO. But there was another secret aspect of her creativity at work even then as well.

Based on her experience and observations, she has written a book, “The Song Creation Formula: 7 Easy Steps to Writing Your Song”, which is being released on Tuesday, July 15 at a gala Western tour-kickoff showcase by some of her record company’s artists at TO’s Cameron House.

The 8 p.m. eclectic showcase of songwriters in the rear room of the club at 408 Queen St. W. includes performances by Chris Birkett, Taylor Abrahamse, Brian Allossery, The Fox & The Moon, her own Veranda band (for a half-hour set at 10:15), Dan Kosub and Pascoe.

Cover is just $6 but you might want to bring along some extra dough to pick up a copy of one of her albums and/or the new book.
