According to TO songwriter Kyp Harness, Canadian folksinger Sam Larkin passed away on Monday, October 28.
Further details are not yet available and the news has not been confirmed by other sources. With the exception of a post of condolence made at 14: 23 today by Wayne Hodgson, there have been no posts on Larkin’s Facebook profile since June. A website, www.samlarkin.com appears to no longer active.
Harness, a good friend of Larkin’s, made the announcement of his death overnight when he posted the following link to a video in which Larkin performs one of his most noteworthy songs, “Mirabeau Bridge”.
On Harness’ Facebook page other songwriters have begun commenting about Larkin’s talent and songs.
“A beautiful guy, with beautiful songs,” posted David Baxter.
