I’m very glad to learn that the No Band Required crew, headed up by Edward Ambrosius, is expanding beyond its Monday night open stage jams at Grossman’s. I recently pretty much had decided that I wouldn’t be attending that night again because of where it’s being held. But with the new NBR Thursday jam starting up tonight, I see no reason not to stop in and check the new one out very soon.

The new 9-1hoot is being held at a place that’s increasingly been offering more live music of late: Duffy’s Tavern at 1238 Bloor St. W. at Brock St. between Dufferin and Lansdowne. As with the Mon. event there’s a different weekly guest host, with Richard Kahl doing the debut emcee honours tonight.
