\ ETOBICOKE \

If big-band Jazz is to your taste then you’ve got a treat in store for you tonight at The Old Mill Inn nestled on the banks of the Humber River north of Bloor St. West where Etobicoke begins.

Starting at 8 p.m. JAZZ.FM91 radio station presents, as part of its “Sound of Jazz” concert series, an 18-piece orchestra of young players backing trumpet-flugelhorn innovator, composer and Grammy winner Randy Brecker.

The JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band, led by musical director Jules Estrin for the past near-decade, is comprised of exceptionally talented middle and high school students, the station says in a promotional blurb.

Guest artist Brecker has recorded on hundreds of albums with high-calibre artists as diverse as Frank Sinatra, Jaco Pastorius, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Frank Zappa.

Tickets for the show in the facility at 21 Old Mill Rd., just north of the subway station of that name, are $40 and can be ordered online.
