Peter Verity -Gary 17

The weekly Wednesday Fat Albert’s Coffee House at Steelworkers Hall on Cecil Street downtown is known for showcasing some of Toronto’s finest Roots talents as a weekly feature set that takes place as part of its open stage night starting at 8 p.m. (sign up begins at 7). Tonight award-winning songwriter Peter Verity is in the spotlight sharing his lyrically profound and musically entrancing original Folk tunes starting around 9.

Two members of Heavyweight Brass Band -Gary 17

A multiple-horn outfit that lives up to its name, Heavyweights Brass Band does R&B and orchestral Rock clasic tunes by groups like Chicago as well as originals. Tonight they bring their stellar show to the Dakota Tavern on Ossington at Dundas St. West starting at 10 p.m., with a $10 cover charge.

Marshall Dane -Gary 17

Songwriter Marshall Dane writes radio-friendly Country-Pop tunes that often also contain some powerful insights and pointed lyrics. He held down a weekly residency at Roc’n Doc’s in Port Credit for many years but with that in the past is now free to share his talents across the GTA, having recently showcased at The Corral in Oshawa, for example. Tonight he’s featured at Timothy’s Pub on Brown’s Line in Etobicoke from 8-12.
