Don’t Look Down duo Victoria Yeh & David Hines -promo shot

\ PORT CREDIT-MISSISSAUGA \

Our GTA West correspondent, veteran entertainment reporter Mike Beggs, told us a couple of months ago about a new acoustic duo out of the Mississauga area featuring smooth Pop guitarist and singer David Hines and fiddler Victoria Yeh, who call their team-up Don’t Look Down.

As Mike reported then, David has been living in the Port Credit area for some time now and actually we had also told you back in December about a festive show he was putting on in a newish room in the area, Port House Social Bar, where it just so happens he will tonight be starting a new weekly residency with Yeh.

Although, as Mike told us in April, David lives in the Port Credit area these days, he still comes into TO at least once a month —as in fact he can be expected to do today— to be part of the house band for Max Layton’s 5 p.m. monthly Sunday “More Songs & Poems” series with Robert Priest and rotating guests at Tranzac Lounge.

If he’s going to be part of Max’s show this afternoon, however, he’ll have to hustle back out west pretty quickly, because at 8 p.m. he and Yeh start the new weekly residency series on his home turf in the Port House room at 139 Lakeshore Rd. East.
