Rare 2-show series for Sandi & Guy this weekend

\ TORONTO DOWNTOWN/TORONTO WEST \

You normally only get a chance to catch dynamic Roots-Pop duo Sandie Marie and partner Guy Breau once a month for a short, early 6-9 stint doing their First Fridays shows with their band at Grossman’s Tavern.

Very occasionally they also do other shows, including, not too long ago, an appearance as a duo as the Saturday afternoon feature for a two-hour 12:30-2:30 set at Humble Beginnings in west TO.

This weekend, however, is the first time I can recall that the energetic pair have done back-to-back appearances over two consecutive days.

Tonight for their show at Grossman’s (379 Spadina Ave.) they’ll have, as usual, their Under The Bus band that also includes versatile Roots/Blues bass player Kevin Jeffrey and drummer Malcolm Gould.

Tomorrow for the Humble show (at 3109 Dundas St. W. in the Junction area) they are listed as a duo, which suits the more acoustically-oriented vibe of the family-operated restaurant.
