Catalyst Rockpile jam -Sharry Budd

Catalyst Rockpile jam -Sharry Budd

\ ETOBICOKE \

For the third Sunday in a row, due to holidays and other special event scheduling, Al Reilly and his Catalyst classic Rock band will hold their weekly jam at Rockpile in Etobicoke on a Sunday instead of the usual Monday.  And tonight’s installment will also celebrate the Rock singer’s birthday, which, as we’ve told you before, is always a special occasion attracting tons of special guests.

Things get underway early, with the band Monkey Wrench doing a 7 p.m. set, followed by one from the house band and the big birthday cake reveal, after which the big showcase stage in the room at 5555 Dundas St. West will be open for jammers.

While Catalyst favours classic and Hard Rock music, the jams Al hosts are open to all styles and configurations of players, including full bands wanting to show what they can do on a fully dressed stage with house sound to solo acoustic artists.

BTW, while there’s no set cover charge for the big night, Al wants to raise some money for a very worthy TO music project, the Regent Park School of Music, which offers inner city kids opportunities to image a future through music as an alternative to gangs or sports, so donations will be collected at the door..
