Alex Radeff -COURTESY

\ TO CENTRAL \

We’ve written a few times now about veteran songwriter and acclaimed inventive guitar player Alex Radeff and his Donkey band, which, as we mentioned in July at the debut of a very short-lived series at a Junction area club that was in upheaval, sort of typifies the struggles of many an artistic soul.

But lately he’s found a nice little niche in downtown café performing solo each Tuesday from noon-3.  I haven’t visited the True Love Café at 290 Dundas St. E. (at Sherbourne) but if I do decide to check it out you can be sure that’s when it will be.

Online reviews mention it’s a “down to earth spot serving comfort food” and that the hearts décor makes it cosy and casual.  Another describes the breakfasts and meals such as burgers as “hearty”.  Sounds appetizing!

Guaranteed appealing will be Radeff’s performance of covers and most particularly his originals, which have, as we’ve told you previously, been acclaimed by industry veterans and which we’ve thoroughly enjoyed on a series of albums, including the latest, 2016’s Furthermore, as we told you about a year ago.

You don’t have to wear your heart on your sleeve if you visit this little spot to hear Alex today or any Tuesday but don’t be surprised if you feel it swelling with delight by the time you leave.
