We’ve written a few times now about the “outlaw Country” band High Court County, which combines high-energy takes on of Country standards with its own Country-Rock originals to deliver a very exciting and dance-friendly show.

Most recently in October we predicted that their one-night Tuesday debut that month at The Corral in Oshawa should garner them some new fans and that indeed appears to have been borne out.  The group, whose originals we told you a bit about last June, are back there again not only tonight but this time also appear Friday and Saturday as the week’s feature attraction.

Tuesdays are “ladies night” in the high-profile room at 433 Simcoe St. South in Oshawa, which is one of the last of the great pure Country venues extant in urban Ontario.  Bands occasionally do one-nighters there but established groups, as High Court evidently is now regarded, get the gig for all three nights —an increasing rarity on the music scene these days.

High Court County, which features sizzling six-string work by Arie Papernick to accompany the acoustic guitar and lead vocals of charismatic Stephen Court, has steadily expanded its roster of club appearances since we first wrote about them in May of 2017, including a stint last summer at the CNE.

They seem intent on taking over the province, with several recent dates at clubs in York and Peel and upcoming shows in Niagara Region as well.  Yippie yi ay!
